I'm back

Sensei-Hubby and I reluctantly came home yesterday. This last week away from it all was exactly what we needed, but neither of us wanted to come back to reality.

Our evening walks on the beach were definitely good exercise for our legs (my calves are still stiff). But our other fitness plans eluded us. We didn't once step foot in the resort's fitness center. Nor did we ever once make it to the beach at sunrise for kata (I tried Bassai Dai one morning when I got down there - it's a lot harder on the legs than you would think to do kata barefoot on the beach). And my pushups? Gotta be honest - not a single one.

So, Exercising for Comments is back on! My pledge is to do 2 pushups for every comment you leave, in addition to the 20 pushups I am supposed to be doing for the BBMChallenge. I obviously need the sense of accountability I get from this project.

Be gentle - it's been a while.

Hi,
Welcome back from the Honeymoon.
The Exercising for Comments idea is great, so here are your first 2. :)

I agree with you that exercising on sand is a definate added effort on the legs. Considering that you did all of that walking, I wouldn't be surprised if your legs gave you "what for" when you asked them to do kata.

Maybe the rest helped your muscles to heal, and grow stronger. I always find that my body trains, and responds better after I give it a little break to recuperate.

I'll only leave one comment this time so that you don't have too many to do.. but I'll make it a LONG comment.. :-)

Are you going to be taking it easier during summer holidays? or is everything going to get more busy?

I'm hoping to catch up on the house.. my home needs so much spring cleaning, painting, and yard work! and yet.. when faced with the choice of what to do, I think.. man, I'd rather take the kids to the park than stay here and work. Shame on me.

I'm glad you had a great time. And I'm glad you're back. Pushups are still the bane of my existence, but I'm trying to stay motivated to do them.
