dojo work day

Yesterday we had a dojo work day. We had a few projects that needed finishing, and it was time to get the Christmas decorations out and up. I got to the dojo around 9am, and things were already buzzing. We cleared out a room that never really had a clear purpose, and we christened it Hanshi's tool room. Which meant we could finally get all the tools out of the lower cabinets in the kitchen! So that logically lead to a new project - clean up the kitchen. Shelf paper up in the cabinets, refrigerator scrubbed clean. Mrs. Hanshi claimed one project as her own and didn't want anyone helping - the instructors' lounge. So she put down the flooring (those rubber mat puzzle-piece tiles) in that room and that bathroom. And of course, it's not a dojo work day if the guys can't play with power tools. So the main course on the project menu was installing our new Focusmaster stations.

Then we got the Christmas decorations out. Shihan Tracy and I put up the tree, and Sensei-Hubby and Hanshi helped me with the train.

The village in the window looks awesome under a black light!

We finally called it a day and headed home around 10 last night. Planning on going back this afternoon to finish decorating.

OH! What a fantastic Christmas decoration effort!

Although... sick people aren't supposed to be laying out mats, and cleaning are they? wink. wink. nudge. nudge.

Take in a nice mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows, I think you deserve it.
